{"id":9854,"date":"2024-10-16T20:07:05","date_gmt":"2024-10-16T20:07:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/uncategorized\/nfpa-90a-2009\/"},"modified":"2024-10-24T11:16:24","modified_gmt":"2024-10-24T11:16:24","slug":"nfpa-90a-2009","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/publishers\/nfpa\/nfpa-90a-2009\/","title":{"rendered":"NFPA 90A 2009"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Safeguard building occupants and contents with the latest HVAC guidance in the 2009 <em>NFPA 90A!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The up-to-date criteria in the newly revised 2009 <em>NFPA 90A: Standard for Installation of Air Conditioning and Ventilating Systems<\/em> cover every aspect of the construction, operation, and maintenance of air conditioning and ventilating systems, including filters, ducts, and related equipment to protect life and property from fire, smoke, and gases resulting from fire or conditions having manifestations similar to fire.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maximize safety by applying requirements in the 2009 <em>NFPA 90A<\/em> to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Restrict the spread of smoke and fire through air duct systems<\/li>\n<li>Maintain the fire-resistive integrity of building components<\/li>\n<li>Minimize ignition sources and combustibility of system elements<\/li>\n<li>Permit air duct systems in a building to be used for the additional purpose of emergency smoke control<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The 2009 edition has been updated to refine and recognize new criteria in a number of areas, most notably those dealing with the types, quantities, and permitted use of various materials in plenum spaces. These changes have helped to define the areas of responsibility between <em>NFPA 90A<\/em> and the <em>National Electrical Code<\/em>\u00ae, with regard to this issue.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the requirements for the maintenance of fire dampers have been removed and replaced with a reference to<\/p>\n<p><em>NFPA 80: Standard for Fire Doors and Other Opening Protectives,<\/em><\/p>\n<p>where such requirements now reside. A reference to<\/p>\n<p><em>NFPA 105: Standard for the Installation of Smoke Door Assemblies and Other Opening Protectives,<\/em><\/p>\n<p>for the maintenance of smoke dampers was also
