Initial protection is covered in relation to<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>available standard processes,<\/li>\n<li>design considerations, and<\/li>\n<li>environments for use.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>ISO 14713-1:2009 applies to zinc coatings applied by the following processes:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>hot dip galvanized coatings (applied after fabrication);<\/li>\n<li>hot dip galvanized coatings (applied onto continuous sheet);<\/li>\n<li>sherardized coatings;<\/li>\n<li>thermal sprayed coatings;<\/li>\n<li>mechanically plated coatings;<\/li>\n<li>electrodeposited coatings.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>These guidelines and recommendations do not deal with the maintenance of corrosion protection in service for steel with zinc coatings.
