This standard<br \/>\ndescribes minimum *limits of performance commonly observed in<br \/>\ncommercially available products, There are products available with<br \/>\nhigher levels of performance for some characteristics.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLASSIFICATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Type Designation &#8211; The type designation shall be in the<br \/>\nfollowing form and as specified in 2.18:<\/p>\n<p><em>Style<\/em> &#8211; The style shall be identified by a three letter<br \/>\nsymbol &#034;RRC&#034; followed by a two-digit number; the letters identify<br \/>\ninsulated, composition, fixed resistors, and the number identifies<br \/>\nthe she and power rating of the resistor. See Table II.<\/p>\n<p><em>Resistance<\/em> &#8211; The nominal resistance value expressed in<br \/>\nohms shall be identified by a three-digit number; the first two<br \/>\ndigits represent significant figures and the last digit specifies<br \/>\nthe number of zeros to follow.
