Scope<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.1<\/span> This specification2<\/span><\/span> covers steel rivets for use in boilers and pressure vessels and steel bars for use in the manufacture of rivets.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

1.2<\/span> Two grades are covered:<\/p>\n

\n

1.2.1<\/span> Grade A\u2014<\/span>Bars having a yield point of 23\u2007000 psi (160 MPa) minimum with carbon 0.18\u2009% maximum.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

1.2.2<\/span> Grade B\u2014<\/span>Bars having a yield point of 29\u2007000 psi (200 MPa) minimum with carbon 0.28\u2009% maximum.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

1.2.3<\/span> Rivets are manufactured from the applicable bar grade.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
