{"id":316391,"date":"2024-10-19T21:49:16","date_gmt":"2024-10-19T21:49:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/uncategorized\/bs-3900-b41986\/"},"modified":"2024-10-25T19:59:50","modified_gmt":"2024-10-25T19:59:50","slug":"bs-3900-b41986","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/publishers\/bsi\/bs-3900-b41986\/","title":{"rendered":"BS 3900-B4:1986"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This International Standard describes a flame atomic absorption spectrometric method for the determination of total lead in paints and related products.<\/p>\n<p>The method is applicable to products having total lead contents in the range of about 0,01 to 2 % (<i>m<\/i>\/<i>m<\/i>).<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>NOTE This method may also be applicable to products with a total lead content of more than 2 % (<i>m<\/i>\/<i>m<\/i>), but it should only be used when the precision does not exceed the appropriate values given in <b>7.2<\/b>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Two methods are given for the treatment of the test portion; the dry ashing method (clause <b>4<\/b>) should be used as the referee method in cases of dispute.<\/p>\n<p>For the determination of lead in the test solution, the dithizone spectrophotometric method specified in ISO 3856\/1 may be used as an alternative method.<\/p>\n<p>Two procedures: a dry ashing method and a wet oxidation method, to extract the lead from the paint, before determining the lead by a flame atomic absorption spectrometric method.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><b>Methods of test for paints.
