{"id":315280,"date":"2024-10-19T21:43:36","date_gmt":"2024-10-19T21:43:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/uncategorized\/bs-en-157212013\/"},"modified":"2024-10-25T19:51:49","modified_gmt":"2024-10-25T19:51:49","slug":"bs-en-157212013","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/publishers\/bsi\/bs-en-157212013\/","title":{"rendered":"BS EN 15721:2013"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This European Standard specifies a gas chromatographic method for ethanol, in which higher alcohols (propan-1-ol, butan-1-ol, butan-2-ol, 2-methylpropan-1-ol (isobutanol), 2-methylbutan-1-ol, and 3-methylbutan-1-ol) from 0,1 % up to 2,5 % (<i>m\/m<\/i>), methanol from 0,1 % up to 3 % (<i>m\/m<\/i>) and other impurities, in the range from 0,1 % up to 2 % (<i>m\/m<\/i>) are determined.<\/p>\n<p>Impurities are all the compounds not attributed to the groups of higher alcohols or methanol.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>NOTE 1 The European ethanol blending component specification<sup>[1]<\/sup> sets a limit for the combined result of ethanol + higher alcohols, not the ethanol content itself.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Due to possible interferences, the method is not applicable to denatured ethanol samples.<\/p>\n<p>Water, if present in the sample, is not included in this analysis, because a signal for water is not visible in the chromatogram.
