ASTM D1555M

Scope

1.1 This standard is for use in calculating the weight and volume of benzene, toluene, mixed xylenes, styrene, ortho-xylene, meta-xylene, para-xylene, cumene, ethylbenzene, 148.9 to 176.7Ā°C and 176.7 to 204.4Ā°C aromatic hydrocarbons, and cyclohexane. A method is given for calculating the volume at 15Ā°C and 20Ā°C from an observed volume at tĀ°C. Table 1 lists the density in grams per cubic centimetre at 15Ā°C and 20Ā°C for high purity chemicals.

1.2 Calculated results shall be rounded off in accordance with the rounding-off method of Practice E 29.

1.3 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard.
