It includes automatic calling and answering.<\/p>\n<p>This standard defines the commands that the DTE may issue to<br \/>\nconfigure and control the DCE, and the responses the facsimile DCE<br \/>\nmay issue to those commands.<\/p>\n<p>This standard is useful for intelligent DTEs and DTE software,<br \/>\nfacsimile DCEs, facsimile terminals, and Multi-Functional Devices<br \/>\nwith digital connection to DTEs.<\/p>\n<p>This standard assumes that the DTE and DCE are connected via<br \/>\nserial asynchronous connection using EIA\/TIA-232-E (or ITU-TITU<br \/>\nV.24) circuits.
