This document specifies the requirements for solid wall pipes with smooth internal and external surfaces, extruded from the same formulation throughout the wall, fittings and the system of chlorinated poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-C) piping systems intended for soil and waste discharge (low and high temperature):<\/p>\n
inside buildings (application area code \u201cB\u201d);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
for both inside buildings and buried in ground within the building structure (application area code \u201cBD\u201d).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
The intended use is reflected in the marking of products by \u201cB\u201d or \u201cBD\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Application \u201cB\u201d covers uses above ground inside buildings, or outside buildings fixed onto the wall.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Pipes and fittings of the pipe series S 25 are intended to be used for application area \u201cB\u201d only.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
For use buried in ground within the building structure are intended only those components (marked with \u201cBD\u201d) with nominal outside diameters equal to or greater than 75 mm.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
EN 476<\/span><\/span> [1<\/span>] specifies the general requirements for components used in discharge pipes, drains and sewers for gravity systems. Pipes and fittings conforming to this standard fully meet these requirements.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n This document is applicable to PVC-C pipes and fittings, their joints and to joints with components of other plastics and non-plastics materials intended to be used for the following purposes:<\/p>\n ventilating part of the pipework in association with discharge applications;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n rainwater pipework within the building structure.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n It also specifies the test parameters for the test methods that are referred to.<\/p>\n This document covers a range of nominal sizes, a range of pipe series and gives recommendations concerning colours.<\/p>\n It is the responsibility of the purchaser or specifier to make the appropriate selection from these aspects, taking into account their particular requirements and any relevant national regulations and installation practices codes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Pipes, fitting and other components conforming to any of the plastics product standards listed Annex A<\/span> can be used with pipes and fittings conforming to this document, provided they conform to the requirements for joint dimensions given in Clause 7<\/span> and to the requirements of Table 21<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" BS EN 1566-1.
