Scope<\/strong><\/p>\n 1.1 This specification covers polyethylene (PE) pipe made in Schedule 40 size for use with insert fittings (inside diameter controlled) and pressure-rated for water (see Appendix). Included are criteria for classifying PE plastic pipe materials and PE plastic pipe, a system of nomenclature for PE plastic pipe, and requirements and test methods for materials, workmanship, dimensions, sustained pressure, burst pressure, and environmental stress cracking. Requirements for marking are also given.<\/p>\n 1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as the standard.
