This Standard specifies quenched and tempered manganese-molybdenum and manganese-molybdenum-nickel alloy steel plates (hereafter referred to as "steel plates"), excellent especially in low temperature toughness and weldability, or suited for thermal refining by quenching and tempering, to be used for nuclear reactors and other pressure vessels.
