This Standard specifies requirements for ground recessed luminaires incorporating electric light sources for operation from supply voltages up to I 000 V and 50/60 Hz, for indoor or outdoor use, e.g. in gardens, yards, carriageways, parking lots, cycleways, footways, pedestrian areas, swimming pools areas outside zones for SELV, nurseries and similar applications (hereafter referred to as "luminaires").

This Standard is in¬tended to he read in conjunction with the provisions of relevant sections in JIS C 8105-1.

This Standard does not cover ground recessed luminaires for motorised roads and for airfields already specified in IEC/TS 61827.

NOTE : The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows:

IEC 60598-2-13:2006 Luminaires—Part 2-13: Particular requirements-Ground recessed luminaires (IDT)

The symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the con¬tents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/ IEC Guide 21.
