Scope given in clause 1 of JIS C 2814-1 and the following shall apply.

This Standard specifies the connecting devices with screwless-type clamping units primarily suitable for connecting unprepared conductors.

In this Standard, screwless-type terminals are referred to as terminals.

NOTE 1 This Standard does not include insulation-piercing connecting devices (JIS C 2814-2-3), twist-on connecting devices (JIS C 2814-2-4) and flat, quick-connect terminations (JIS C 2809).

NOTE 2 The Inernational Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.

IEC 60998-2-2: 2002 connecting devices for low-voltage circuits for household and similar purposes-Part 2-2: Particular requirements for connecting devices as separate entities with screwless-type clamping units (MOD)

In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/IEC Guide 21.
