Preface This is the second edition of CSA Special Publication Z351, Glossary of Metric Units. This Glossary was prepared, at the request of Metric Commission Canada and the Standards Council of Canada, by an ad hoc task force in consultation with the relevant sector committees of the Metric Commission. Submissions were requested from all sectors of the Metric Commission and were reviewed for conformance with CSA Standard CAN3-Z234.1, contributing sector committees being consulted to resolve discrepancies. This Publication Is a compilation of terms, items, and usages showing the recommended metric units for a number of applications. The list of quantities and applications is not exhaustive, and additional entries are being sought for future editions. The purpose of this Publication is to encourage an orderly transition to, and consistency in, the use of metric units. It complements the two CSA Standards relating to the SI:CAN3-Z234.1, Canadian Metric Practice Guide, and CAN3-Z234.2, The International System of Units (SI). Both the Standards Council of Canada and Metric Commission Canada encourage the use of this Publication by all those engaged in metric conversion.
